Here is another entry for the weekly photo challenge “contrast.” The Museum Willet-Holthuysen in Amsterdam was built in 1687 for a wealthy member of the city council, Jacob Hop. After changing hands many time in 1855 a glass merchant named Pieter Gerard Holthuysen acquired the house. After his death his daughter and her husband, Abraham Willet an art collector, owned and lived in the house and in 1895 bequeathed the house and its contents to the city. This is one of the Objet d’art on display.
