Weekly Photo Challenge: Inside 03-15-2014

For this weeks photo challenge I selected some photos from “inside the earth” in New Zealand.

Blackwater is a combination of abseiling, zip lining, tubing and caving. The adventure starts with an abseil down a spider hole a distance of 100 meters (328 feet) below the surface. From there we zip lined, in the dark, deeper into the earth to reach a ledge which was approximately 15 to 20′ above an underground river. We grabbed an intertube and jumped off the ledge into the black river below and then floated down the river observing the glow-worms. After the relaxing float, it was time to hike through the cave and them climb up the face of a waterfall back to the surface of the earth. Hopefully you will find this to be a unique take for the challenge “inside.”
