It has been awhile since I posted a travel photo because we bought a new house and are transitioning. My computer with my travel photos has been out of commission, and frankly wasn’t a top priority.
But here is a new photo of the day from the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. The Great Wall stretches for over 4,000 miles along China’s northern border. The section at Mutianyu is located 55 miles to the north of Beijing. Construction of the wall was started by emperor Qinshi Huangdi (221-210 BC), who was the first emperor of the Qin dynasty. He is also the same emperor who created the terra-cotta warriors. Construction of the Great Wall was continued under many dynasties, including the Han, Jin and Ming.
