Dove Lake at Cradle Mountain National Park - Tasmania

Dove Lake at Cradle Mountain National Park – Tasmania

Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park in western Tasmania is a hikers heaven. There are numerous day walks ranging from easy walking on a boardwalk the entire way to difficult trekking which could include steep climbs. But for the really ambitious there is the 5-day 80.5 km Overland Track from Lake St. Clair to Cradle Mountain. This World Heritage area covers 1262 square kilometers of spectacular mountain peaks, deep gorges, lakes, tarns and wild moorlands. Dove Lake is located in the northern portion of the park at the base of Cradle Mountain. Walking the Dove Lake loop is an easy and relatively flat walk for those who are not up for climbing any of the mountain trails.
