De Krijtberg Church – Amsterdam, Netherlands

De Krijtberg Kerk, also known as Franciscus Xaveriuskerk,  is a Roman Catholic Church   located on the Singel in central Amsterdam. The Singel is a canal which encircled the city in the Middle Ages. It served as a moat around the city until 1585, until Amsterdam expanded beyond it. The splendid neo-Gothic church was designed by Wilhelm Victor Alfred Tepe who was a Dutch architect and considered one of the most important and influential representatives of Gothic Revival architecture in the Netherlands during the 19th century. The De Krijtberg Kerk was opened in 1883 and is easily recognized by its two pointed towers.
