The luxurious gardens and the interior of the 18th-century Hotel Biron are filled with the sculptures of Auguste Rodin. There are 27 bronzes and 40 marbles scattered through the gardens. In total the collection includes 6,600 sculptures, 8,000 drawings, 8,000 old photographs and 7,000 objets d’art. Rodin was a self-taught artist and is considered to be the father of modern sculpture. The Musée Rodin contains most of Rodin’s significant creations, including The ThinkerThe Kiss and The Gates of Hell.
