St. Paul's Cathedral - Munich, Germany

St. Paul’s Cathedral – Munich, Germany

The Catholic Church St. Paul (also called Paulskirche) in Munich, the largest neo-gothic church, stands at 97 meters high. It was built between 1892 and 1906 by Georg von Hauberrisser. It was consecrated by Archbishop of Bamberg, Friedrich Philipp von Abert. In attendance was the entire Wittelsbach ruling dynasty, led by Prince-Regent Luitpold. In December 1944, during World War II, St. Paul was badly damaged by airstrikes.  It was finally restored and modernized in the 1950’s .
