There is a reason that Ireland is known as the Emerald Isle. It is the poetic name for Ireland due to its green countryside which makes it perfect for this weeks travel theme. Especially since it is St. Patrick’s Day weekend and of course he is the patron saint of Ireland. No matter where you travel in Ireland from the Cliffs of Moher on the west coast in The Lower Shannon, to the Ring of Kerry in the southwest tip of the island, to the Glendalough Cemetery in the County Wicklow on the east coast, or the putting greens on the golf course at Ashford Castle and the gardens at the Kilkenny Castle in Southeast Ireland, Ireland is certainly green. Even the bugs are green, as evidenced by this caterpillar. The one thing that is not green in Ireland is the beer! So grab a Guinness and toast Saint Patrick.

  1. What gorgeous pictures! Thank you for sharing!!

  2. I posted photos of Ireland too but I promise you I hadn’t seen your post first. 🙂 Love your photos.

    • I didn’t look either before I posted. But Ireland on St Patrick’s is a natural choice. Glad you liked them.

  3. Not only the most authentic photos for impending St. Patrick’s Day, but also the greenest. 🙂 So lovely!
