Forward, like any action adverb, is difficult to depict in a still photo. But here are a few photos that demonstrate forward motion.

When you go on a whitewater rafting trip, once you launch your raft you have no choice but to move forward, as the water flows, down river. Sharks are perpetually forward motion machines. Sitting at the top of the Olympic ski jump, all it takes is a slight lean forward to propel someone (not me) down the slope and forward through the air until gravity takes over. As the waters of the Waikato River rush forward into a narrow chasm, it creates the spectacular Huka Falls.

  1. What an eclectic mix of forward motion. I just love the New Zealand shots, so full of energy 🙂

    • Yes, Huka Falls does have a lot of energy. It is not a big drop, just 10 meters, but the power of the water rushing through the chasm and over the drop is amazing.

  2. Now, the Huka falls a particular fave of mine….

  3. Fun collection of images for the theme! Great job!

    • Thanks, glad you liked them.
