Travel Photo of the Day 10-25-2012

Sorrento, Italy

Sorrento is a small town of 16,500 in southern Italy. The town overlooks the Bay of Naples and is at the tip of the Sorrentine Peninsula. It has many great  viewpoints where you can see Naples, Mt. Vesuvius and the Isle of Capri. From the ferry boats that provide service to Naples, Amalifi, Positano, and Capri, the views of Sorrento’s sea cliffs and luxury hotels are also fantastic.  Sorrento is famous for the production of limoncello, a digestif made from lemon rinds, alcohol, water and sugar.
