Travel Photo of the Day 01-18-2012

Waitemata Harbour – Auckland, New Zealand

From the top of the Sky Tower, the views of Waitemata Harbour and the landmark Harbour Bridge are outstanding. At 328 meters tall, you will reach the observation decks in a 40-second stomach-lurching elevator ride. If that is not enough excitement for your stomach, you can stand on and look down through the glass panel floors. But the views of the harbour and Auckland are the real star of the show. You can take the slow way down, on the 40 second elevator ride, or you can do the Sky Jump and make it down in 16 seconds. It is more like a parachute jump than a bungy jump. If you want to do a bungy jump you will need to head over to the Auckland Harbor Bridge Bungy Jump. If jumping off the bridge is not your thing, then you can do the 1.5 hour climb with the Harbour Bridge Experience to the top of the arch.
