Marions Lookout – Cradle Mountain National Park, Tasmania

Marions Lookout

Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park is a World Heritage site located in western Tasmania. The 1262 sq-km park is Tasmania’s best known National Park and The Overland Track is one of the world’s great treks. The Track runs 50 miles (80.5 km) from Lake St. Clair to Dove Lake and can be walked in either direction. One of the best views along the Overland Track is found at Marions Lookout. From the lookout you have a fantastic view of Dove Lake on the right and Crater Lake on the left

  1. Did you do the overland trek? That one is on my list!

    • Only a short part. I started at the north end of Dove Lake(on the left)and went around the east side to the south end where I climbed a steep and difficult trail to get up to the Face Trail which went across the face of Cradle Mountain and then connected into the Overland Trek. Then I took the Overland to the end at Ronnie Creek, where I picked up a ride to my lodge. Overall I did about 11-12 km.
