Travel Photo of the Day 12-31-2011

Fremont Street Experience – Las Vegas, NV

If you happen to be in Las Vegas or anywhere near it on New Years Eve, and want an alternative to the strip, where you will encounter large crowds and not be permitted to go in and out of the casinos, head downtown. There you will find the Fremont Street Experience. The crowds won’t be quite as big.

Elvis

But you will see Elvis.

Strange Creatures

Along with many other strange creatures and even the mayor.

Glitter and Bright Lights
You will find all of the glitz, glitter and bright lights and be able to move freely in and out of the casinos along Fremont Street. There will be multiple bands playing at different stages along the street.

Girls on Bars

Of course you will see attractive bartenders, who like to dance on their bars,

More Girls on Bars

and who will make sure that you are having a good time and never wanting for another beer (or your drink of choice).

Light Show
There is the world-famous Fremont Street light show at the top of every hour on the 90 foot high, 1500 foot long LED display canopy. It is the only place in Vegas that they will turn off the outside casino lights just for the light show.
Fireworks

And of course there are fireworks of a different kind at midnight.

Happy New Year 2010

Bringing in the New Year in Vegas is a great experience. But it is best to plan ahead and book a room at one of the hotels along Fremont Street. We stayed at the recently refurbished Golden Nugget and it was so nice just to stumble to the elevator after a long evening enjoying the Fremont Street Experience.
