Travel Photo of the Day 8-29-2011

Athabasca Falls – Alberta, Canada

Athabasca Falls is one of the more spectacular falls in the Canadian Rockies. They are located in the Jasper National Park, approximately 31 km south of the Town of Jasper. The headwaters come from the Columbia Glacier which is 70 km to the south of the Athabasca Falls. The Athabasca River cuts it way through the narrow gorge and drops off in the dramatic falls.
