At the Sichuan Opera in Chengdu, which is not really an opera but more of a variety show, we saw a handpuppet performer create some amazing hand shadows. It was impressive and entertaining what he was able to do with just his two hands, including the horse galloping across the moon.

Love these. I can remember lying in bed trying to produce animal shadows on my wall – best I could do was a rabbit – pretty simple.
